If you have never stayed out of town a little way, you are in for a treat. This is a great location. The beach is nearly private, as it is shared by three other condos and several private villas. Because of it's size and location, the beach is free from the vendors that can be annoying. Town is a short 10 minute bus ride away, if you prefer, cabs are plentiful and can be called or pass by often. This is the ideal location to relax, away from the noise and bustle of the city. Rental Address & Phone Information Carretera a Barra de Navidad #2220 The number of our condo within the building is #904 The number for the Vonage internet phone in the second bedroom is 503-922-3318. We have tried to provide you with everything you might need to help enhance your stay. We have stayed at many places in Mexico and usually have found something is lacking or a particular place would be perfect ‘if only’ ... We have owned the condo for three years, at this writing. It was extensively remodeled in a project that ended in February of 2006. We continue to add and tweak things on a regular basis. If you find that we forgot something, please do not hesitate to let us know. You can leave a note at the reception area for us or send an email to phil@bestvallartacondo.com. We would be pleased to hear your comments and recommendations.Unlike many places you will find ample paper towels, soap, washcloths, coffee filters and other amenities. Feel free to use the washer/dryer combination, you will find soap and dryer sheets in the cabinet under the water bottle, we furnish these, as well. You may also want to try your hand at barbequing. We grew tired of paying the $5 cleaning fee to use the one downstairs that is pool side and bought one for your use and ours. You will find extra briquettes in the 2nd bedroom closet and more lighter fluid in the pantry closet. We ask that you please scrub down the grill before you leave so that the next guest can enjoy it as well. You will find beach towels in the Master Bedroom closet. The pool is heated in the winter and early spring and the surf here is shallow and relatively safe. From our vantage point (the top floor penthouse) you will be able to see Manta Rays, turtles, a variety of marine life, night time fireworks and the occasional whale (in season). There are several boogie boards in the 2nd bedroom closet if you are young or young at heart. The water here is treated, hence the ice cubes are safe to use. The icemaker also has its own filtration unit as well. If you are still hesitant, you will need to bring purified ice from town or make your own from the trays and purified water that is provided. If you need to use the air conditioning, please do so. Each room is individually controlled with the white remote controls that are in the main rooms. The temperature displayed is in Celsius, if you set it at 24°, you are at approximately 75° Fahrenheit. Each degree, up or down, moves the temperature almost 2° Fahrenheit. We have recently installed a Dish Network system for your enjoyment. You can receive 120 US based stations and all major network feeds. All feeds are from the East coast, so prime time programming begins at 7PM in the evening. We have provided a variety of DVD’s for your enjoyment. There is also a Blockbuster video store on this end of town. The administration office on the 5th floor can tell you where to find it. There is a DSL line in the second bedroom next to the work desk. You can plug your laptop in here and stay in touch from the condo. Maid service is twice per week on Monday and Thursday. The maid’s name is Mely and she will thoroughly clean, but the dishes, glasses, pots and pans are your responsibility. Please have those washed up and put away before you leave. Please remove garbage from the condo, at least daily. Bags to dispose of garbage are located in the bottom kitchen drawer and the containers are on the left hand side of the parking lot, as you face the road (north side). The administration office is available to answer your questions and help you make any arrangements that you may need. Bus service to town is $6 pesos (50¢ US) and seems to come by about every 15 minutes or so.
